DROMI Celebrates Founder at Christmas, Restates Commitment to the Needy

Christmas comes but once in a year.
Christmas is about so much more than festive decor and gifts under the tree. it's about celebrating family, friends, and everything else that brings joy.

It is on this note that the founder of DROMI, Dr. Rhoda Makinde and the entire DROMI family wish to express gratitude to Almighty God for witnessing yet another Christmas season filled with joy and gladness in HIS grace.

We specially thank the Founder, Dr. Rhoda Makinde, whose vision and compassionate heart is the driving force behind this personally funded and life- changing organization. Her commitment to giving hope to the hopeless, voice to the voiceless and strength to the weak is evident in her everyday move to design, participate and support any humanitarian programme geared towards the development of the people and the society. God bless Dr. Rhoda!

We can unequivocally say that DROMI has, unarguably, proven to be the number one Non- Governmental Organisation of its kind in the country to have truly delivered its mandate of transforming lives through evidenced based programs that focus on expanding women's right and security, youths empowerment and advancing women's political participation through an integrated approach that promotes gender equality across the society.

Our transformational and empowerment programmes in the 2019 underscore the fact that DROMI is very committed to the welfare and well-being of the senior citizens, youths, widows, women, unemployed, underemployed, and the less privileged in the society.

Through the 2019 programme year, DROMI has been able to organize Free Skill Acquisition Training and Empowerment for unemployed and underemployed women in more than 6 states of the federation. The training was carried out in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Delta, Rivers, and more than 7 Local Government Areas of Ondo state. Also, DROMI rolled out an Interest Free loan to market women, 3D epoxy floor tiles and wallpaper training for youths, Free health fair for all, Free cooking competition and training for food vendors in Ibadan and Ondo town, Free school bags and books to secondary School students, support for people with special needs, DROMI mobile clinic for health care emergency response, besides numerous individual and direct intervention programmes.

The above mentioned feats would not have been possible without the loyal and committed spirit of the various teams and members of this noble organization at various levels. The intervention team, the league of DROMI coordinators across every community, media team and other volunteer groups within the organization, who worked through thick and thin to ensure the success of all DROMI activities. Their commitment and loyalty to the vision of the founder are deeply cherished. Therefore, it will be insensitive not say a big THANK YOU.

Now, at Christmas. Let us preach peace and show love towards one another as enshrined in the birth of Jesus Christ. This season should remind us of our commitment to one another, especially the needy, in the love of God. We all are created not to live in isolation but to live for ourselves as an ambassador of God's unconditional love towards humanity. We should use this season to beseech God for peace and peaceful co-existence in our nation.

Once again, I want to reiterate DROMI's commitment to changing lives through its evidence based programmes and again, appreciate the magnanimity and exemplary leadership of the founder, Dr. Rhoda Oluwatoberu Makinde for her determination to immensely contribute to the fight against poverty in our society.

On behalf of DROMI family, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Signed:
